History

Company history :
  • Created in 1977 the GILLET OUTILLAGE Company, with a payroll of 4 persons and a turnover of 1MF,(small business), manufactured cutting products (scissors, shears) in cramped premises in the center of town.
Its installation in an industrial area in 1979/1980 made it possible to develop rapidly thanks to a better productivity due to the working conditions (a single floor, clear and spacious environment, installation of pneumatic system) and the presentation of these surroundings reassured its customers and encouraged them to entrust it with new markets.

  • 1980 / 1990
The company continued improving its existing products (cable cutters, sheet metal shears, etc.) while increasing its range through new creations (parallel jaw pliers, steel cable cutters, automobile tools, etc.) which launched it onto new markets
This diversification led to creating a partial research and development department in 1988 with a student from the COMPIEGNE UTC completed in 1990 with the creation of a R&D position and acquisition of a Computer Assisted Drafting system, making it possible to design and manufacture special machines for automobile assembly lines (20 machines to date).
The payroll went from 6 to 18 persons and the turnover from 1.2 MF to 8.8 MF, and the business was turned into a limited liability company with a capital of 100 KF in 1987.

  • 1990 /1996
This diversification required many changes in the production means and methods.
So, reliable, flexible equipment was sought to meet all these very different situations (programmable machines, laser marking, numerically controlled machining center and integration of CAM/CAD systems at the end of 1996) with a structure making impeccable supervision and management possible when a quality engineer was hired in 1995 and obtaining ISO 9002 certification at the end of 1997.
The payroll went from 18 to 22 persons and the turnover from 8.8 MF to 13.4 MF and the business was turned into a public limited company with a capital of 1 MF in 1994.
